ARRUDA, AMERICO VICENTE

June 23, 1938 – August 11, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Americo Vicente Arruda, at the age of 72 years of age, on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, Ontario.  Dad fought a courageous battle with the rare cancer that took him from his loving family in a matter of seven weeks.  He passed onto his next adventure wearing a secretive smile while surrounded by Pat (Logan), his loving wife of 46 years, his eldest daughter Maria and her husband Stephan Miller, his youngest daughter Michelle, and his nephew Jose Arruda. Americo was bigger than life to the people he loved and will not be forgotten.  He will be greatly missed by his large family, the friends who loved him and the many people he inspired to do better and to live with honour.Friends will be received at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, AT 280 ST. HONSINGER, Cleland McLean

Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 19, 2010, after a courageous battle. Cleland McLean (Clee) Honsinger in his 80th year was the beloved husband of 59 years to Helen Honsinger (nee Weadick). Cherished father of Ron and wife Karen Honsinger. Beloved grandfather of Kimberly, Laura, and Kristin (Andrew Nichol). Survived by loving brother David and wife Lynda Honsinger. Predeceased by brother Glen Honsinger and sister Zelda Trimble. Also survived by brother-in-law Wilbert Trimble and sisters-in-law Margaret Weadick, Elaine Barke, Lynn and Marion Honsinger. Clee will be sadly missed by a large and loving family and numerous friends. Clee was born in Fergus in 1931. He lived primarily in the Fergus, Brampton and Guelph areas. Clee retired from CP Rail after 38 years. His quiet, gentle spirit was a special blessing to everyone in his presence. Clee is now rejoicing and resting in the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Friends were received at Parkview Pentecostal Church, 89 Speedvale Ave. E., Guelph Monday (2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.). Funeral service was held at the church on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. (Reception followed in the church hall). KOOB, Helen

With her family keeping vigil and surrounding her with love, Helen Koob prepared herself to meet her Savior Jesus Christ and be reunited with her husband and loved ones who have gone before her. Helen passed away peacefully on August 20, 2010 in her 79th year. Helen Koob (nee Masterson) was predeceased by her husband Daniel Koob. They were blessed with seven children, and four grandchildren who loved her very much. Helen was a pillar of strength and grace as she lived with a progressive disease called PLS (Primary Lateral Sclerosis) that she bravely endured for many years. Her faith was very important to her and helped her to cope with her disease. Helen was the loving mother of Martin (Heather), Joan (Rick & children Kimberly & Amelia), Joseph, Andrew (Paula), Julia (Mike and children Madeline & Bridget), Angela,  and Marie (Roger). Predeceased by her parents William and Eva and siblings: Billy, Evelene, Leonard and Stewart. She is the dear sister of Sheila, Sister Marjorie, Brother John, Frances (Al), Loretta (Terry), Karon (Mark) and Theresa. Predeceased by her in-laws Clara, Stella, Jake, and Raymond. She will be sadly missed by Daniel’s family: Louise, Louis (Mearl), Clem, Frank (Rose), Daniel, Cecilia (Mike), Tony (Mary), Leona. She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews. Her friends, especially those who resided with her at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, will remember her with affection. Helen rests peacefully now and has left a legacy of love, compassion, determination, and understanding to all who knew her.  Helen touched the hearts of many, even after she lost her ability to speak.  May God bless her and all of those who loved and cared for her. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Monday, Aug. 23, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at the Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the ALS Society or to the March of Dimes.

RENNICK, Lloyd Alexander

Peacefully at the Avalon Care Centre, Orangeville on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in his 92nd year; beloved husband of the late Margaret Maree Till (2003); loving father to Jack of Belleville and Reg and his wife Sherron of Orangeville; dear grandfather of Kim, Kipp, Kelly, Denise and Vicki; cherished great-grandfather of Dustin, Nicole, Keegan and Jessica; predeceased by his brothers Bert and Chester. Lloyd will be missed by other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home & Chapel, 21 First St., Orangeville (519-941-1392) on Friday, Aug. 20 from 2 p.m. to  4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to  9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orangeville. Memorial donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church or the Maple Leaf Lodge # 57 IOOF, Orangeville. A tree will be planted in memory of Lloyd in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
