MPP Arnott demands hospital construction plan


Local MPP Ted Arnott wants to know when the province will reveal its hospital construction plan - which he hopes will include a new hospital for Centre Wellington.
Groves Memorial Community Hospital is one of approximately 70 hospitals still waiting for government approval to proceed with redevelopment plans.
“We’ve been working (on the Groves proposal) for seven years, " Arnott said.

Hospital auxiliaries celebrate centennial


Patients and visitors may have noticed the “HAAO” Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario crest on the vests worn by volunteers at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
The “HAAO” represents the Health Care Volunteers of Ontario and during February this organization is celebrating its 100th Anniversary.

County manager to head Good Roads


At the annual Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) conference, Wellington County operations manager Paul Johnson was elected 2010 rresident of the association.
Johnson has been a member of the OGRA Board of Directors since 2003. In addition to his work with OGRA,
Johnson was chair of the Ontario Road Salt Management Group, and has extensive experience presenting winter road maintenance programs across North America.

Examine multimedia art in arts centre show


Walls rapping, spirits communicating through mirrors, and an overwhelming barrage of symbols on the ceiling - no, the Elora Centre for the Arts isn’t haunted (that we know of). The sights and sounds are the work of video instillation artists Jenn E. Norton and Scott McGovern.
Curated by Julie René de Cotret, the two artists' newest video instillations will be arriving at the ECFTA on March 11, and will be open to the public until April 11.
