That Summer, which opened the current season of Elora Community Theatre (ECT) last November, has been recognized for directing and acting by the Western Ontario Drama League.
In the "out of festival" category, cast member Brianna Hastie won the award for Best Supporting Actress, while Pat Dunn was also nominated. Director Julie Wheeler-Bryant won for Best Director.
That Summer focused on a family, young love, and how lives would never be the same, following the events that occurred in the summer of 1958 at a little cottage in southern Ontario.
Each March, the drama league hosts a festival to adjudicate plays by community theatre groups across western Ontario. Plays can be considered  “out of festival” as a learning experience for cast and crew, or “in festival”, to perhaps be chosen to present their plays at the festival in mid-March.
That Summer was adjudicated “out of festival” and was eligible for nominations for Out of Festival Awards.
