On Monday February 1st 2010 at the Wellington Terrace Nursing Home, Fergus, Donald Dewar of Pine Meadows, R. R. 1 ,Belwood in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Barbara, and his late wife Margaret Fraser (1967). Loving father James Edward Dewar (Carol) of Wolfville N.S., Douglas Bruce Dewar of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Robert William Dewar (Brenda) Orleans, Ont and Cameron Brydone Dewar (Beverley) of Toronto. Dearest grandfather of Jennifer, Kimberly, Brydone, Donald, Cynthia, Christina, Alex, Brittany and Morgan, and great grandfather of Kaelin, Jack, Lucille and Charlotte. Don is pre-deceased by his parents and one brother William Charles and his 1st wife Margaret Fraser (1967). The family will receive their friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, from 10:00am until 11:00am on Thursday, February 4, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday February 4 at 11:00am. DYSON, Myrna-Gene
Passed away at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, on February 8th, 2010 in her 81st year, succumbing after a courageous battle with ALS. She leaves James her partner and best friend of 35 years. Myrna will be lovingly remembered by her son Scott (Russell) Macdonald of Greely, daughter Myrna-Gene (Jim) Newitt of Belleville, stepdaughter Janet (Jamie) Yule of Dobbinton, stepson Jeffery of Vancouver B.C. daughter in-law Betty Macdonald of Fergus. Predeceased by son Philip Macdonald (1994). Fondly remembered by grandchildren Paul (Jennifer) Macdonald of Winter Haven Florida, Kelly Macdonald of Toronto, Craig (Kelly) Macdonald of Rochester NY, Melissa Newitt of Montreal, Chris Newitt of Belleville, Robert, John, Lloyd and Alissa Yule of Dobbinton, also great-grandmother to Philip Macdonald of Winter Haven Florida. Myrna is survived by three brothers and one sister and is predeceased by one brother. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital on February 19, 2010 at the age of 60. Loving daughter of Ilene Moore and the late Wray Moore. Dear sister of Bonnie Gerhardt (Larry), John Moore (Trina), Judie Moore and Jim Moore (Denise McDonald). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family. A service was held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:00 at Thomson Funeral Home (160 St. David Street North, Fergus 519-843-2380). Burial took place at Belsyde Cemetery. McBAIN, Ron
1940 - 2010
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ron McBain, of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, (formerly of Fergus, Ontario), announce his passing at the Red Deer Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the age of 69 years.
After retiring from truck driving in 1991, Ron found plenty of extra time to enjoy his woodworking, western and war movies, and was always there to lend a hand with the many children that entered his and Valena’s home.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Valena (Gladys Rennie), two sons; Duane (Christine) and Dan (Lisa), and two daughters; Laura (Geoff) and Peggy.
Also left to cherish many special memories of their Grampa are Cameron, Kaeli, Stephen, Nadine, Sheridan,Tracey, Jenaea, Jesalyn, Sarah, and Lindsey, along with two great-granddaughters; Karter and Teal.
Ron will also be tremendously missed by his mother, Phyllis Lobsinger, his brother Bill (Mary) McBain and two sisters; Vi (Jim) Young and Phyllis (Gary) Willfang, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, wonderful friends, and his many in-laws.
Ron was predeceased by his father William and brother Don.
For those wishing to pay their respects, Viewing will take place on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 7:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home (5019 47a Ave., Sylvan Lake, Alberta).
Funeral Services for the late Ron will be held at the Chapel of The Sylvan Lake Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., also at the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, with Pastor Barry Sigurdson officiating.
