Howard Beal of Fergus, passed away at Groves Memorial Hospital on January 30, 2010, peacefully in his 89th year. Lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 24 years Eileen. Survived by his stepdaughter Ann (Ken Francis) Barr of Belwood and his stepson Dean (Lori) Moffit of Victoria B.C. Howard will be remembered by his grandchildren Tim and Brenann Francis. Survived by his brother Ralph (Irene) Beal of London and sister Pearl LeCroix also of London. Predeceased by his sister Helen Munro and her husband Bert Munro of Cambridge. Howard will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Tuesday Feb. 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at noon. Of Elora and formerly of R.R. # 2 Moorefield passed away peacefully at Heritage River Retirement Residence on Friday, January 29th, 2010 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Barbara Joan Elizabeth Stewart-Schieck (nee Trask). Dear father of Elaine and her husband John Hensen of Buckhorn, Yvonne and her husband Rev.Tom Carman of Windsor, Jeannette Schieck and her husband Bruce McKay of Orr Lake, Don Schieck and his wife Kaye Wood of Arkona, Jim Schieck and his wife Annette of Vegreville, AB., Elizabeth Schieck of Guelph, Catherine Schieck and her husband Pat Rooyakkers of Grand Valley, Marilyn and her husband Murray Abraham of Fergus, Bob Schieck and his wife Peggy of Moorefield, Major Kent Stewart and his wife Leslie of Kingston, and Carol Bailey of Gravenhurst. Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Brother of Dorothy Potter of Oshawa, Margaret Stewart of Exeter and Larry Schieck and his wife Christena of Peterborough. Brother-in-law of Marjorie Schieck of Sarnia. Predeceased by his first wife Margaret Benson, one son John Douglas Schieck, one granddaughter Ashley Schieck, one sister Bertha Douglas, two brothers Morgan and Arthur Schieck and three brothers-in-law, George Douglas, Garnet Potter and Floyd Stewart. To honour Doug’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, Elora on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in the Melville United Church, Fergus on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Greg Smith -Young and Rev. Tom Carman officiating. Spring Interment Elora Cemetery.
